This is our 11th year as the officially sanctioned charity of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
We are the only official charity in the Delaware Valley. This event is our largest fund raising event each year.

The funds are used to offset matching funds needed to secure funding from the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development. The proceeds support our homeless families shelters and our capitol campaign for homeless veterans “ Home for the Brave”. We have been awarded a grant of $914,000 from the federal Department of Veterans Affairs to build a new 36-bed facility for homeless veterans. We need $500,000 to match those funds and will use 50% of the proceeds from this event to help with that match.

Last year we raised $208,000 with 233 people attending the event. This year the goal is to raise over $250,000 and 300 in attendance. We are grateful to TD Bank, All Risk Restoration and Loews Philadelphia Hotel as lead sponsors. Channel 6 ABC is our media sponsor and are very attentive to our technical and financial needs. They do an amazing job of helping us put this event on each year.

We are excited about this year’s event and have added some new twists. We have 5 celebrity impersonators who will provide live entertainment and interaction with attendees. Imagine Joan Rivers greeting you on the red carpet while 100 volunteers scream for your autograph and picture, as if you are at a real celebrity event. Prince, Cher, Lyza Manelli, and Tina Turner impersonators will provide live entertainment. Glen Macnow 610-WIP Radio host and author will do a book signing. We are honoring Peter Samuelson Film Producer, Media Entrepreneur, and Humanitarian. You may remember him as the producer of Revenge of The Nerds and Arlington Road. Also former Philadelphia Phillies Outfielder and new manager for the Camden Riversharks Von Hayes will be available for pictures and signing.
